Connected Math Project 2 (CMP2)

Mathematics computation is embedded within real-life problem situations and concepts and strategies are reviewed and extended throughout the school year.

CMP2 units of study include; Geometry of polygons comparing sides and angle relationships of regular and irregular polygons; Estimating, adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing fractions; Perimeter of rectangles, triangles, parallelograms, and circles; Adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing decimals; Percents; Statistics using tables, line plots, bar graphs, stem and leaf plots; Mean, mode, median, and range; Experimental and theoretical probability.

Pre Algebra Course 2

The 7th grade math class is the second course of the Glencoe series focusing on Pre-Algebra. This course begins transitioning from a mostly arithmetic point of view to a more intensive Pre-Algebra focus.

Pre Algebra Course 3

This 8th grade course is the end of the three year set. By this time, students are capable of comprehending basic algebraic functions. 6th & 7th graders can also enroll through advanced placement.

Algebra 1

Algebra 1 is an advanced placement class intended for students that are ready for advanced math. Students from all grades may enroll if they have excelled in at least one Pre-Algebra course as a prerequisite.

Geometry

WMS Geometry is a result the large numbers of 6th and 7th grade students enrolling in advanced placement classes and completing Algebra 1 by the end of 7th grade. The focus is on basic proofs, geometric basics and problem solving
