7th and 8th graders from Washington Middle School once again participated in the Battle of the Books reading incentive program this school year. Teams, made up of 3-5 members, battled against each other in game-show format, identifying books by the clues given about the 12 books they read. Teams earned 5 points for knowing the correct title and 3 bonus points for knowing the correct author.
All battles took place the week of March 24th. Many hard-fought battles took place among well-prepared teams. Congratulations to “The Crazy Glooed Mustaches,” this years’ Battle of the Books champions. The members of the team include Sam Storey, Jordan Remington, Emily Flock, and Maiya Caldwell. Taking second place was “The Middle Dakotas,” with members Josiah Saboe, Skyler Rawson, Cory Nelson, Ajaya Schlich, and Todd Toney.
The Crazy Glooed Mustaches battled against the winning teams from Reeves, Jefferson, and Marshall Middle Schools on April 2nd. The Marshall Middle School team, The Koalas, captured the traveling trophy when they were declared the overall winners.
